- Declutter. Get rid of unwanted items before packing to reduce the number of boxes.
- Utilities. Ensure utilities are transferred to your new address before moving day.
- Plan for kids & pets. If possible, plan to have children and pets stay with friends or family to help ensure safety and efficiency of the move.
- Box up, tape up, and label anything you don’t want us to box up for you. If you prefer, we offer professional packing services and we’re happy to do it all for you!
- Unique / Oversized Items – Review our list of these types of items that we can and cannot move. If you’re uncertain about any item, call & ask before moving day.
- Set aside any valuables and immediate need items that you wish to transport yourself (jewelry, valuables, guns, medications, clothes, toiletries, etc.) and let our movers know where those items are so they don’t load them on the truck.
Moving Day:
- Working Space. Please ensure there is sufficient space for us to park our moving truck (or trucks) and move any personal vehicles or obstructions between your home and the truck parking area as much as possible.
- Meet the Movers. Greet the movers, provide a walkthrough of your home, and highlight fragile items, items that stay, and anything else the movers need to know.
- Disassembly & Reassembly. Identify any items to movers that require disassembly at your current home and reassembly at your new home.
- Be Available. Stay present as items are boxed and/or loaded to ensure everything is performed according to your desires and expectations. This also helps if our movers have questions for you.
